I own a business in Las Vegas and in the summer it is impossible to survive without air conditioning. Last week one of my air conditioning units went out and I desperately called Cal air for help. After going on the roof they told me I needed a $1600 compressor for the unit. I was immediately suspicious because the units are only 6 years old, and they had already had to replace 2 other compressors over the last 2 years to the tune of almost $3000. Well I had another repairman from a small company come over and he just changed the fuse and charged me $70 and it worked fine. Seems to me that the first thing a repairman would check would be the fuse. Now I'm wondering whether or not the others actually needed anything other than fuses too.
