On 3/2/08, I was contacted by a rep. Of RECR (Real Estate Client Referrals) and offered exclusive rights to all referrals generated by there many websites. I was to deposit in an escrow account a specified amount of money and recieve 7 screened, pre-approved real estate referrals and a given amount would be withdrawn from my acct as the referrals were sent. I was told I had 90 days to test the product and recieve a full refund if I was not satisfied. That very day, I recieved my first referral. The lead was not pre-approved and was not viable. Upon speaking to the person, I determined they were not a serious potential buyer or seller and were just "looking". Upon sending emails and calling customer support, I was told, "these are internet leads and it ususlly takes several months for these leads to turn into prospects." I know this is often the case, so I continued to "work" the leads as RECR directed, but periodic contact with the lead through phone calls and emails. On 5/5/08, I was contacted again by customer service and told that my act was empty, if I wanted more leads, I would need to fund my acct again. I told Clint Miller, at customer service that I was not satisfied and that at least 4 of the leads were absolutely useless. He apologized, assured me that 1 out of 20 leads resulted in a closing, I just needed to give it time. He offered to replace the 4 bad leads and give me 5 more free, if I purchased another package. Reluctantly, and foolishly, I agreed. Again, to no good end.
The next thing I knew, I had an unauthorized auto draft on my checking. I called RECR and told them I did not want any more leads, cancel my account Within the 90 day cancellation period. Then about 20 days later, another attempt was made to get money from my checking account. I placed a stop payment through the bank for their ID number and called RECR and told them. Four days later, they resubmitted an auto draft and changed the ID number so my bank did not recognize it andapid it. Now I am having to dispute both unauthorized charges with my bank because RECR insists that I authorized the payments. I will also be filling complaints with the FTC, Missoula BBB, Montana AG, and the AG in my state.
RECR did not deliver what they told me they would and took money from me that I did not authorize. I will never do business with them again and will discourage others of same.
