I purchased a $600.00 treadmill from this store. When I got home, no delivery was not offered at my convenience, I found the unit to be broken in the box. When I called the store, I was spoken to rudely and very quickly hung up.
The following day I returned the treadmill, determined not to provoke anyone I delt with. Remember, delivery hours end before I can get home in the afternoon, I borrowed a truck and a friend to help return this item (the same friend from yesterday). As soon as I said, "I'm returning the treadmill." I was asked, "Do you want a replacement?" My reply was, "No just refund my Sears card." From this point I was treated very rudely. I was made to assist in unloading the treadmill.
I was called a jack-ass, my friend (whom I told not to help unload) was called a lazy-ass for not helping me unload, and I was told by another person I would receive no refund until I appologized to the person I had dealt with thus far.
Here is why I can no longer shop at any Sears store.
The store in question is owned and operated by a married couple. I would assume this means "mom & pop" and friendly, small-town atmosphere. The first person I dealt with on the phone and at the store, is the lady, I use the term loosly, she used "ass" twice when referring to customers, while speaking to a customer. The person who made me appologize is her husband. Sears corperate took my call, said they logged a complaint and a "superviser" would be contacting me within two weeks.
This incident took place in January. I still have not heard from them. I have been a Sears card holder for over 15 years (it was my first, I'm only 33 yrs. Old) and have been a good customer, never getting behind on my bill.
Please stop giving Sears your business. There are so many other stores, with better products, and/or better prices.
