I made the mistake of signing up for the free trial to help my daughter research a project. I don't recall clicking off the full membership trial for the annual fee. No fees are displayed anywhere on the free membership page nor is the terms that the membership is self-renewing.
I was shocked to find a $199.95 charge on my credit card. When I called up I knew right away I had been scammed. The customer service rep on the other end was very rude and told me that I had signed a legal document when I has signed up for the trial membership and that I hadn't notified them. Apparently it's all there in the sign up trial membership — hidden out of view but it'
S there. I've put a report into my credit card company but I don't think I will be getting any kind of refund. They company doesn't give you any kind of retroactive fee so if I do cancel my membership I have still paid the $199.95.
The sad part is that this is probably the crappiest research tool out there with nothing current or relevant. Mostly it's a repeat of what you can find for free on Yahoo. It's one of the poorest research tools out there. I regret every coming across it.
Beware the High Beam offer of a free 7-day trial. It's just a sneaky way of them taking your money.
