Our decision to purchase two Whirlpool appliances, a washer and dryer, from Lowes was based on the salesperson's assurance that we would receive a $100 rebate for purchasing two qualifying appliances, $200 for three and $300 for four. She presented a form that listed the models that we purchased, provided the rebate form and printed-out an extra receipt to use with the mail-in rebate. After several weeks, Lowes informed us that they would not honor the rebate because the SKU numbers were incorrect. After several emails and explaining that the rebates were a condition of our purchase, they still blew us off. I have since discovered several other people who had the exact same experience. It appears that Lowes is intentionally using fraudulent sales techniques since the other customers were ripped-off in identical manner at other Lowes stores.
