I have the same problem as others on this page. I, too, have been charged for making calls within my calling area. No notice was given to suggest that I was at any time roaming.in fact, a Cingular rep said a customer would have to call them each time they wanted to place a call to ensure no roaming charges were not being incurred.
At the time of purchase, I received no contract terms indicating the service area limitations. The contract they read me on the phone is not the one I signed.
I can no longer use my phone in my home town.
Cingular offered me a more expensive plan, and when I called to notify them of their breach, I received a letter filled with advertisements from the office of the president. The letter was rude and parts untrue. I called David L. Who sent the letter and he never returned my calls.
I need to cancel this plan, but it will cost me too much money.
Sprint and Verizon have much better plans and notification when roaming. Don't get ripped off by Cingular!!!
