I signed an agreement for 1 year of pest control service. They came out for the initial service and I made the mistake of paying for the entire year in advance in order to get a discount. They never came out to the any of the other services for the year. When they sent me a bill for a renewal, I called them and asked them where my service was for the year I paid for. They said that I did not actually buy "Pest Control Service", that instead I bought "Pest Control Insurance" and it was my responsibility to call them when I had a pest problem to tell them to come out versus their responsibility to provide regular pest control service throughout the year.
Pest Control is preventative - you don't wait until you actually have termites to have your house treated! So this approach is absurd and NOT what I asked for or paid for.
I filed a complaint with the BBB where they documented their approach of providing "Insurance"
versus "Service". They also lied and said I signed a doc saying they had successfully completed their agreed upon service - but what I signed was a thing saying they had completed their initial service.
When they sold me the service they claimed that they did quarterly spraying, inside and outside and I was elligible for sprayings between times if there was a problem. That was very clearly not what they delivered, and they grossly mis-represented themself to me.
