This woman could sell beach front property in hurricane season. We lost $300.00 for a 2 night stay in an old building that is made to look like a cabin, it was dirty and it stank! We had no water/or hot water at all until the 2nd day. The only place you could get water is from the bath room tub (witch did not have a door) There were no working sinks, no cook wear. We had to walk to my sisters cabin (witch was nice) to cook, or relax. Nothing worked except the toilet. We had to put an air mattress up in the bathroom doorway for privacy. The beds my children had to sleep in were in terrible condition and had odor. We had to put air mattresses over them. The place had saw dust everywhere, flies and huge beetles and ants that we slept with the whole weekend. We tried to get out of the weekend retreat, but we were stuck, with no other place to go. Everywhere was booked. Talk about being in a tight spot. I would NOT recommend Rugby Creek Cabins unless you want to throw several hundred dollars down the drain. And be miserable... To end the vacation. Connie (the owner) asked for a pet fee of 60.00 for 3 small dogs that were crated because it was too dangerous for them to walk around! The place was not fit for pets, much less humans! We called to verify we could bring pets, and was told yes over the phone, but when we arrived we were told we could not have pets that there was a problem. Her website said a $10.00 fee per pet, but she wanted $20.00 for each pet even though they were not out of their crates. She owes us money for the extra "person" charge, my brother had to turn around half way there after getting the phone call from myself about the cabin not being ready. He has 2 teenagers and his wife that would have not had a place to sleep just like us if I had not caught him in time. She did not offer any discount or any money back for our inconveniences, she only asked for MORE money!
