I looked online to book a weekend at Gateway Lodge in Cooksburg, PA which Deb Adams owns. I was going to stay in one of their cabins that they make look spectacular on there website. They advertise their cabins as a member of Select Registry online and with photos.
I walked down to the cabin i was renting (the road was not drivable, hardly even plowed) and from the moment i walked in to the moment i walked out i was completly disgusted.
It looked very old and musty smelling. There was mouse dropping all over the counters, cupboards, and floor. The dust on the ceiling and fan was thick and gross. You could tell they don't clean there cabins often. There was MOLD on the inside of the fridge and freezer along the trays and rubber rims. When the cold water was turned on there was a smell of feces coming from the water. (which i later discovered there was an issue of feces crossing with the drinking water in the main lodge/inn)... Regardless i walked back up the hill and took my business to a much CLEANER inn further down the river...
I would NOT recommend gateway lodge to anyone trying to enjoy a romantic weekend or even a sanitary weekend...
