I moved out of my house June 30th and notified TXU a month before my move my date of vacancy. I asked them to shut my services off on that day. Electric utilites (and all other utilities) were shut off on my date of vacancy. Somebody else called TXU and had the electric services turned back on. TXU put the new account in my name. Later I received a bill for over $500. I called customer service and explained what happened. They told me to send them a copy of my lease and a copy of my driver's license. I did that— they still to this day— have not closed that accout. I found out that it is now on my credit record - the only negative thing on my report. I am outraged. I called today to tell them what happened again. They told me that I need to file a police report and send it to them. I told them that I don't know who to file the report against - except to file it against TXU. TXU will not remove this account— and even if I pay it— it will still be on my credit record. I have read other instances of this and I wonder how many people have complaints against TXU— if anybody has any suggestions on how I can remove this item from my credit, please let me know. I have already filed a dispute with the credit bureaus and TXU has validated the debt. I am so upset with TXU.
