I requested a shipping quote with DHL and I did write the following informations on my request: Motorbike KTM 250 cc 200 pounds from Kingsport TN to Palma de Mallorca Spain.
At this time I had not purchased the bike yet, because I had no idea how much shipment would cost and needed to look at my budget.
I received a quote of 525.00 dollars and it was ok. I then closed the deal with the seller of the bike wired 5000 dollars to the seller.
Once the funds arrived on the seller's bank account, I called DHL to organize the pick up of the bike in Kingsport and have it shipped to Spain.
They then gave me a price of 2162,14 dollars!!!
They do not want to honor the quote. They claim the agent should have asked me for measurments. But he did not. He never asked me for a thing and gave me a quote anyway without the measurments. I am not supposed to know the job of DHL's agents. Thanks God I have everything in writing.
I contact the complaints office, but did get nowhere. Always the same, they are sorry for the inconvenience... But in order to make a quote they need measurments... I asked this person in the complaints department to give me the name of her supervisor, or a highest employee. She said she cannot do this! Now I sit on a bike in Tn and have financial difficulties to have it shipped to Europe. Any suggestions?
