They are trying to Rip me off

Do not trust these people, and I have a reason why!

I had someone come to my door when I lived in an apartment about a year ago. Saying that there was a way to save on your electric bill and that I should take advantage of it. First off, the way the company goes about this is very deceptive. They told me several times that I was not changing anything and that TXU would still be my supplier. Well they are everyone in this areas supplier, and they convienced me to change my provider to commerce. I asked them if it would still be a TXU bill, the man told me yes. I asked him if I were going through anyone else but TXU and the man told me no.

Next thing, I knew that I was moving soon, my lease was coming up and I was not going to re-new. I asked him if that would be a problem and the man told me no. Then I had to get on the phone with someone else to confirm. I asked this man if me moving in 2 months would be a problem and even he told me no.

Time to move came. I called TXU and set up a move date. Turning the power on to my new house, and leaving the power up on the apartment for another week to get things moved and then the disconnect there was in place. I then called Commerce to inform them that I was moving. The man who took my call told me that I was not in their system and that I just needed to move and they would follow, or the service would cancel because of the disconnect. At this time I wanted to switch, they had sold me on it so I told him that was fine, and then confirmed to him that I was moving and made sure there was nothing else I had to do.

Well, I moved and a few months had passed. I get a call from commerce energy, and was excited that they were going to initate my service. They asked my address and I gave it to them happily. What did I get? A bill for the past few months for the apartment address that I no longer lived in. I called the company confused. The first person that I spoke with was not helpful at all, in fact very rudely told me that I owed it even after I explained what happened. Then proceeded to raise their voice at me, telling me that I should not have moved so soon. Even after I had explained to the company on several levels that I was moving.

Then I called again after I had cooled down a bit and spoke with someone more helpful. He had told me that I just needed to gather some information and send it to him, which I did. After this I had though the entire thing handled, well I would have been wrong.

The first of the year I get a call from commerce energy, they told me that I owed them money. I asked them how is this I cleared this up months ago, they told me that I still owed. I then asked them why it took them 5 months to call me after I had thought I had cleared it up. I got no answer to that question. What I learned was the person I had thought was helping me never logged that he got my fax, and the situation went on the backburner, collecting late fees, and neglecting to inform me of any further progess in the matter.

Then I called again, to try to clear things up. I explained the problem to someone else, who pretty much told me that it must have been a problem with them taking over my power cancelling the disconnect notice, but that it was still my problem. Then I was told that I should go to the apartment that I lived at before, and tell the people living there to pay me the money for the electricity that they used. I have never heard anything so ridiculous! Not only was I told that it was pretty much their fault, but told that I had to deal with it by the same person!

Now I have tried to contact this company on many levels to get this resolved, and all I ever get is someone telling me that I owe them money, or them pretending to look into the situation and then coming back months later with no progress.

This is my situation, and why I will never deal with this company. They are shady and they don't care if they are wrong or not, you still owe them. I have even tried to e-mail the president of the company, only to get passed to someone else that is currently dragging out the situation!
