Refused Refund Due to Missing Parts: Feel Like I'm Getting a Run-Around

Assurz is a service. You purchase an item from a website, pay a small fee, and in return you get a "worry-free 90 Day return policy." I ordered a product from nerds.net, a computer keyboard stand. When I put it together, I realized it would not work for my particular needs, it would not adjust to the height I needed it to be. No worries, I bought Assurz, right? Called the 800 number and sent the keyboard stand back, making sure that all the parts were included.

They said it is missing parts, very small parts. They are denying the refund because they will not be able to re-sell it. I know everything was is in there. They are lying, but I have no way of proving it. It is my word against their's. It is dragging on and on, because they know most people will eventually give up. They make little or no money re-selling things like computer keyboard stands, so it is in their best interest to make this take as long as possible so I will just accept I will never see my refund.

It is not so much that I am not getting a refund that makes me so angry, although it was $200. It's that I have absolutely no recourse in the matter. There is nothing I can do to prove that I actually did send in the product complete with all of the accompanying parts.
