Ugg boots were purchased from Sole Desire, a footwear company located at the local mall. They were a X-Mas present for my daughter. The sales agent stated that they run a whole size larger than normal so we should purchase her a size 7 instead of an eight. We did so. I personally asked if they did not fit could we return them and did she think they would have the other size available in January should we need to return the boots. The sales person stated "yes" to both questions. Well, they didn't fit my daughter.
One week after Christmas we went back to the store and were told they only carried that style for Christmas and they would NOT be getting any more in. (We were lied to initially!) Also, they would not give our money back only an in-store credit. They only UGGS they carried were the "classic" and they were not what we wanted. We then went to the UGGS website to see if we could return the boots through them! Yes! According to their policy, "We gladly accept returns from customers who purchased their UGG Australia product from a retailer other than www.uggaustralia.com. We will process your return for an exchange or a credit. We do not offer a refund for products not purchased directly from us. Items must be in new and unused condition. A product with dirt or wear and tear will be returned to the customer with no action taken. Products must be in our current product line, which is posted on uggaustralia.com."
This seems to fit our situation. We sent the boots in original packaging with warranty card, receipt and all. We were mortified to receive our boots back in a brown plain box, no wrapping, no packaging, no warranty card and filthy dirty from UGGS! Along with a letter stating "we cannot receive your boots as they are "too worn"! Too worn!? They have NEVER been worn!
I called Uggs and was given another address in Colorado to send them. I just received another e-mail from them stating they could not accept the return because California declared them to be "too worn"! Doesn't anybody ever really look at a product anymore? This company just doesn't want to follow their own policy! Ripoff! Don't buy from uggs!
