Did not honor rebate. Have not received boxes for return equipment leaving me open for penalty charge

I had sent off a $100 Back Promotional Rebate ($10 back for 10 months) when i signed on to Dish network about 8 months ago. I made sure I read all instructions and made a copy of everything. The disclaimer read that it would take up to 8 weeks. I checked my bill and never saw any credit back. 6 months later I get a notice in the mail stating that I did not qualify for the rebate and the reason for it was that "I did not qualify!!!" So, I called the customer service number that it came with. It was disconnected. I am willing to let that go as I am too busy to deal with such nonsense. Although after checking online, it seems like I'm not the only one that got scammed.

Another issue that raises my concern, that other people has had, is that I have yet to received the box and mailing label for the returned equipment. I would owe penalty charges if the equipment is not returned by a certain time (two customer service rep. Said 15 days while one said 30 days not sure who to believe). I am moving in 2 days and will have to take the equipment with me while I wait for the box and shipping label. The only problem is they never asked for my forwarding address.

So I called Dish Network customer service and the lady told me that there was no order for it and that even if there was one, it would have shipped to my old address. She assured me that she will "put a note on it". After checking online about other people's experience, I made another phone call (this time to get a confirmation number which i did not get the last time. According to the gentlemen, the order still has not been initiated but that "a note was put on it"!!! And that he would put the order through and give me a confirmation number.

I gave him my forwarding address AGAIN, got the confirmation number, and got his employee number. When I asked to talk to a supervisor to tell them my experience, he asked me "Why?" and told me it's not an appropriate reason. Since he was somewhat nice, I told him i would be patient and see if the problem gets fixed first. From reading other people's experience, it seems there is a pretty good chance i will have to dispute a penalty charge coming my way soon. This is just bad business and I hope a class action law suit will force companies like this stop scamming their customers.
