Promomodels - The Agency
Promomodels - "The Agency" - Lauren Hargrove - Brittany Sims This is what gives Promo Companies a bad Rep! Non-payment, In CONTRACT VIOLATION, Won't respond to email or phone calls! SHADY COMPANY. Do not work for them!

Worked an event on December 7th and 8th. Payment has yet to arrive and is past the CONTRACTED date. They are giving me the "run around". DETAILS below... (Still have ALL copies of faxed tax information, original emails, etc...)

When hired Brittany Sims, the Account Executive she included in her email:

"Please make sure that your profile on Promomodels.com is complete and accurate, particularly your address. This is what we use to pay you, and this is typically done within 30 days of the completion of the promotion. If the check needs to be canceled due to the fact that you did not provide the correct information then you will be charged $20 out of the compensation you are owed."

The actual CONTRACT between The Agency / PromoModels and myself states:

"The Agency agrees to pay me promptly and with checks being mailed WITHIN 60 DAYS from job completion."

I have contacted Brittany Sims twice about receiving my payment. The first time she gave me a wrong email address: "[email protected]". I then contacted her again a week later, she then transfered me to Lauren Hargrove, the Financial Manager, and told me that she would be handling the payment. After leaving a voice mail for LAUREN HARGROVE, I received an email two days later saying:

.."This month has been very hectic due to the holiday break, catching up from before then, and having to get out over 10,000 1099s by January 31st. I want you to know that we have not forgotten about the event you worked for us and we understand that payment is past due... Again, I DO NOT HAVE AN EXACT DATE as to when you can expect your check but know that we are working our hardest and thank you SO much for your patience. All inquires about checks can be made to me, not your account executive as I see when checks go out."

This company is in DIRECT VIOLATION of CONTRACT LAWS and is THE reason Promotional Companies have a SHADY reputation. It's interesting that someone else has the same complaint about NON-PAYMENT that I have.

As for the REBUTTAL from the company. Shame on you for making excuses and the "90 day contract" is NOT true in my case, so that is not an excuse! You are past due! I don't understand how 60 DAYS isn't long enough for "THE Promotional Staffing & Modeling Agency". Also, having Account Executives like MISLEAD people into thinking payment will come withing 30 days is PATHETIC! And saying that the girl waiting for her check is just being impatient, and saying that everyone needs to wait their turn, as checks are processed in order of event worked, is RIDICULOUS. Order or not, you still MUST COMPLY with processing payment within the time frame set in the CONTRACT!

Shame on you for taking advantage of College Students and people who count on their money to be there within the contract specified time. I was counting on using this money to go out of town last weekend, but instead am stuck here trying to chase down my check!

Bottom Line: At first glance this company seems great, fun events enthusiastic account exec's, but then NON-PAYMENT, and saying you CANT even give me a DATE when it will be mailed out. I'd think twice before working with them!

FYI: Most of the people who work promotions in Dallas have worked other events with each other before and have exchanged contact information. I'm sure an Attorney would LOVE to know how many contracts you are in VIOLATION of and people you are STIFFING out of their EARNED Money!
