On Thursday, Feb. 7 I signed up with TheLadders.com to have them produce a resume at a cost of $654. They then e-mailed me a blank worksheet to complete in order to actually produce a resume. Less than 24 hours after signing up, I decided to not seek alternate employment and requested to cancel with a refund. I was told that I could not cancel because the terms said so. I appealed to Dorion with The Ladders.com about this business practice and holding a customer hostage.
They have done no work, and actually cannot do any work until a customer returns a completed worksheet. I did not return the worksheet, so they have done nothing toward creating a resume for me. I have been in business for years and would never hold a customer hostage like that.
