I hired Laurie Black of Black's Paralegal to help me take another company which "ripped me off" to court. I wanted to get my money back from these other people. Laurie Black told me that she would help me, and was a pleasure to work with until she charged my credit card. She charged me $150 for 3 hours of work. I sent her all my information that I had on this other company. I file with my receipts and everything that she would have needed in order to help me get this other company. After sending her my file, and paying her $150 she stopped responding to me. I would email her time and time again, and every few months I would get emails with excuses as to why she hadn't been able to get back to me. I was more than compassionate at first, but I still wanted her to complete the service that I paid her for. After almost 6 months of trying to get her to do something for me, she sent me proof that she tried to email the company in which I was trying to take to court. If she had read through my file, she would have seen that I had already tried to contact the company by email, fax, and phone. I couldn't believe that she only sent one email. She claims she did other things but never provided me with any kind of proof. Of course months would go by where she wouldn't reply to any of my emails. Then I asked for my file back when I got fed up with her services.
When I did so, she said it was in the mail. After months of waiting, I wrote to her requesting proof that she had sent me my file back. I wanted my file back so that I could hire someone else to help me since she obviously wasn't going to. She just took my money, sent one email on my behalf which I had already done, and stopped responding to me, her client. I have asked her to provide me with a tracking number and the address that she claims to have sent my file to. Without this file I may no longer to be able to take this other company to court. I am a student in Canada and I do not have much money. All I wanted was my property back, and proper services for what I paid for. I received nothing from Blacks Paralegal. All Laurie Black did for me was create more unwanted stress and disappointment in my life. Do not trust this company with your money as I did.
