My husband and I had our taxes done yesterday at H&R Block. We opted for the Emerald Mastercard, for the convience of having all of our money at once, and being able to use it like a debit card.
The next morning I checked the balance and it was all there. I decided to pay some bills online. I payed the first three and proceded to the fourth bill and my card was denied.
I called the 800 # on the back of the card and explained what the problem was. I asked why my card was denied when I had a balance of over $3000.00. She told me I had entered my PIN wrong too many times and it locked me out.
I explained to her that I was never prompted for my PIN on any of the sites I had been to. She told me I was lying! As if she witnessed me paying my bills.
I told her I was not lying, and asked to speak to a surpervisor and was immediately disconnected.
I phoned back. I received a different rep. And was told by her that I had exceeded the limit of usage for the card for the day, which she said was 7. I only used my card 3 times, and it is not stated anywhere on the user agreement how many times I can use my card in one day. It's my money, I should have access to it at all times.
She hung up on me. I phoned back. I received another rep. She gave me another # to call. I called them. They couldn't help me. She put me on hold, for and hour... By this time I had already been on the phone with customer no-service for nearly 3 hours. I called back. Once again, I received another rep. She told me I could withdraw my money from the ATM for a charge. At this point, I am willing to pay $1.00 to get my money. Then she says she will put me on hold, I guess she forgot to hit her mute button because she called me an ugly word that rhymes with witch!
Needless to say I am very angry. I feel I was ripped of by H&R Block through this Emerald Card. I should be able to get my money, use my card as often as I like.
There was no excuse for them to treat me the way they did.
