Let me start off by saying that I used the Emerald Advance card last year and did not have a problem with it what so ever, but this year is a whole other story. I was told that a few things were changed this year reguarding the Emerald Advance, I guess they changed for the worse. I was told that $470.00 was available and $440.00 would go on my card, with a $30.00 activation fee which I don't understand because my card and the fee was paid the year before. And in two weeks the addition $30.00 that was not put on my card out of the $500.00 would be put on my card. I also had to pay $30.00 by Jan. 13, which I did ahead of time. The additional $30.00 was never put on my card so I gave them a call and they said they it never posted and put it on my card. When I filed my tax return in January $450.00 was automatically paid on my card. Well I just got a bill from H & R Block Bank and they are trying to tell me that I owe an additional $50.24. I called the 800 number and was put on hold over and over again for a total of two hours and did not get any answers. Except for the last payment of $450.00 was just an estimate. How can that be? It is a prepaid card that you can't spend no more than you have.
