I received an initial collections letter from Nco Financial Systems, Inc., regarding Cingular Wireless Account due. This account was later transferred to Broward Adjustment Services, Inc. Dated 1/14/05. Account was then paid be me, directly to Cingular Wireless, $659.51 dated 5/23/05.
I then received a letter from Afni Collections, Inc. Dated 7/08/05 regarding Cingular Wireless account for $758.43. I was then told by Afni that this account was under Bellsouth. I then wrote Afni, advising them that I had paid the balance to Cingular Wireless, and enclosed receipt copies with my letter dated 7/22/05. Again, I wrote Afni another letter dated 2/7/06 requesting written confirmation that Cingular Wireless had advised them of account payed. I received a second collections letter from Afni dated 2/16/06 still requesting payment of $758.43. I then received a third letter from Afni dated 4/7/06 again, requesting payment of $758.43.
I then wrote Cingular Wireless, enclosing copies of Afni requested letters for confirmation that this account was paid directly to Cingular.
I received a confirmation letter from Cingular dated 6/14/06 that the account had been paid however, I still owed Afni $758.43 plus collection fees of $98.92. My last letter to Afni dated 6/20/06 has not been returned with a reply or confirmation.
This company Afni, seems to be fraudulent due to the following data I received from them in writing:
1. Afni letter dated 4/7/06 lists their address as Afni 404 Brock Drive P.O. Box 3427 Bloomington, Illinois 61702-3427 as well as P. O Box 20939 Ferndale, Michigan 48220.
2. Afni letter dated 4/7/06 Lists Cingular Wireless address as 1310 Martin Luther King Blvd. Bloomington, Illinois 61701.
Cingular Wireless, Inc. Official address is Suite 1100-CO 5565 Glenridge Connector Atlanta, Georgia 30342.
Since the time of my last attempted contact to Afni, I have not gotten any more collections letters however, Afni is still listed on my credit report as unpaid account.
