In my January phone bill, I have 2 third party charges for voicemail features that I did not ask for, but magically are there. Both appear to be from the same parent company, ESBI, but have 2 different names, each charging $15/month. One is called Trivoice vmail, the other called Orbit telecom.
I asked for neither, but they both were added to my phone bill. It appears they were both added within the same week... My phone bill says one service started on 12/17/07, and the other on 12/21/08. Fortunately, my phone company is able to block any further third party charges, but is rather annoying to have to make phone calls to make things right again.
It appears that several other people have complained about this company, and I'm sure there are more companies out there like this one. The man I talked with from my phone company said that the only penalty these companies often have is repaying what we, the consumer already paid them. Is there any harsher penalties that can be levied on these theives?
