Without Service for a week, Installation had to be re-done and I was charged

In May, a salesman was going door to door in our neighborhood promoting DISH Network and offered us a deal that included FREE installation immediately. We committed to an 18 month contract. The installer who accompanied the salesman went up on our roof to install the dish and we told him that our landlord would not permit installation on the roof and he said that it could be mounted on the side of the house which we (and the landlord) agreed to. The installer was using a ladder which was very unsteady and unsafe and as he was coming down off the roof, the ladder slid with him on it and he scraped his leg and almost fell off the roof. I administered first aid to him and bandaged his leg. He insisted he was fine. He then stated that he did not have the proper equipment on his truck to install the dish but he could go to the local Lowe's store to get it. He stated it would cost us an additional $25.00. We were rather surprised at this, as the salesman told us that installation would be FREE. Begrudingly, we agreed to it and the installer purchased the items and returned to our home to install the dish. We also tipped this guy $10.00. A few weeks later, we were talking and felt we had been ripped off by the installer, so we contacted our salesman and he said he would contact the installer and relay our message. Several days later as I was sitting on my porch, the installer showed up and insisted that he was NOT going to return the $25.00 we had paid him. He also emphatically stated that his leg was still messed up from almost falling from the roof and to "remember that". His tone was extremely threatening. Since that time, we have had major problems with the dish going out for hours at a time. When I call DISH tech support, I am connected with people who don't speak very good English and it takes up to an hour at times to get the problem rectified.in early November, the dish went out and no tech support person could get the problem solved, so a service call was scheduled for several days later. I was without television service for a few days but my account was never credited. When the serviceman came (very nice gentleman), he and his assistant checked the entire set up and determined rather quickly that the original installer used cable from the inside of the house to the actual dish that was much too small and could not accommodate the system. They replaced all of the cable and the system was working fine until January 17. Out of nowhere, as in the past, the dish went out and again, tech support could not rectify the problem. Another service call was scheduled and I was told that I could not get the dish serviced until January 23 - almost a WEEK later!!! I am without service and have to go to friends' houses to watch programs that I enjoy watching and will have to do the same this weekend when the NFL playoff games are airing. I have been very inconvenienced by DISH Network and I am extremely upset. I am locked into that 18 month contract and have 10 more months left before it expires. I have never in my life encountered a company that treats its customers so poorly and has such shoddy equipment. As soon as my contract is up, I am either going back to Comcast or to DirectTV. I have heard so many complaints about DISH Network and I'm sorry I ever signed up for it.
