I sent this letter to match.com customer service and 2 hours later they banned my profile!!!
"Dear match.com,
As a new member browsing profiles I have noticed rampant abuse by what seems to be spammers that post fake profiles in many cases using the exact same photo and profile text OVER and over again...
Look carefully and you will see all of these profiles are from the SAME person:
Wharden66;kerie947;neikoselina;tyrelokissi;jilokuinsa;kiotesafina;Juannolian
Why can't match.com do a IP address trace and confirm that they are in one geographic location and/or from one source and BLOCK this IP address or even range of IP address if this is coming out of places such as Nigeria, etc...
In one case match.com even allowed a person to post her email address straight on her USERNAME!!! Check this out - "rtimsie@yahoo"
its in your database as I type this...
I'm sure your company is large enough to deploy methods to do content and image filter. If multiple 'different' users upload the SAME image, then that should set off a red flag alert, if multiple profiles have the same words then that is either plagiarism or worse: a bunch of fake spammer profiles..
It's different to accept that match has not caught on to this yet, so my only conclusion is your company allows this kind of thing to happen to get more people to sign up and subscribe and to inflate your numbers.
I have heard about the lawsuit where match.com paid its own employees to go out on fake dates to help out the company and make it look good.
If this turns out to be an inside job, and in house tactic, then I will report this to the better business bureau, however even if its not a conspiracy, you and your company had better get its act straight, 30 fake profiles in three days is not good, maybe I will blog about this and reveal how terrible your service is and want kind of incompetent people you have for 'approving profiles'.
It ridiculous, I have tagged all the fake profiles and if they are not removed timely I will report your lack of concern for the safely and wellbeing of your members...

This is just the tip of the iceberg, I saw so many fake
profiles on match.com it was not even funny.
And yet whenever I try to include something witty in my profile (not giving away my email or anything) it never got approved... And yet we have people including their entire email addressIN THEIR USERNAME and match so approved it!!!
So figure...
