I have rented through RAC for some while now. I have made payments on time until i was laid off from work. I fell some weeks behind on my payments and don't want to give back my furniture for the simple fact that i have paid so much money into it already. My Sofa and loveseat, I have already put 3000 towards it and now only owe 800. I will get caught up on it with my first paycheck with my new job. RAC has been calling my phone up to 11 times in a row, i counted. My neighbors say that they come and pound on my door for half hour to an hour at times and i am at work. MY 15 and 11 year old are terrified when i am at work and they know that they are not allowed to answer the door for anyone. I work 12 hours. 630am to 630pm. I don't get home til after 7pm. One time my 11 year old said that kept harassing by pounding on the front door forever, that she went to the front door window and told them that they were not allowed to answer the door when i was at work so if they could please leave and stop pounding on the door as if they were the police. They told my 11 year old if my mom didn't return the furniture they were going to bring the police with them. My daughter not understanding what is going on was in a panic and called me at work hysterical thinking that i was going to jail because RAC told her that the police were coming. Neighbors say they pound on my front door, my side house door that leads to the basement. They walk around my home looking to see inside tno see if anyone is in there. What can be done about this harassment? And can i get i trouble with the police? I hate to lose my furniture after putting so much money into it and just for RAC to take it away and resell it to someone else when i only owe a little more on it and then they also try to get more money from someone else on my furniture that i paid the majority off. RAC usually sells items that are returned to someone else at the price that is still owed for example i already paid 3000 on my sofa and loveseat i only owe 800. RAC will sell to some one else for the 800 or more. That is wrong!
