I have been a tracfone user for a couple of years, and given them large sums of my money for prepaid phone service. On September 30 @ 10:22: 03 AM, I called their toll free number to purchase an internet advertised deal, which I have a print out of: "ONE YEAR CARD SPECIAL OFFER! With the purchase of our NEW ONE YEAR CARD that now includes 400 MINUTES! Receive a FREE MOTOROLA V176* phone and get 50 BONUS minutes. Buy now! Only $99.99. *phone is reconditioned."
I got ahold of 'Michelle, " one of their phone agents, and told her about the advertisement that I was responding to. She indicated that she understood. At the end of putting the purchase through on my credit card, I asked her when the new phone would arrive. She indicated that she only sold me minutes, that she had made a mistake, and that no phone was put on that order, for which I had been charged $99.99.
As luck would have it, my landline phone battery was beeping and going dead, I told her I would have to call back, because she told me she couldn't straighten out the order or give me a CALL BACK. Cmon' people, if you can't call me back and it is YOUR company that made the gross mistake, you don't deserve to do business in the USA! You are truly UN-AMERICAN!
If these companies had any idea what customer service used to be like before outsourcing, they would be truly ashamed. After many repeated calls that I made back to them, highly inconvenient for me, constantly put on hold or given to other supervisors that could not help, I took the issue up with my credit card vendor, and they are disputing the charge.
NOW, my tracfone phone service is disconnected, and I have service 'till 2011 and 300 and something minutes that dwindle every time I try to check and see if they made a good business decision and restored my phone service which I depend upon for my business and personal communications. No, they have NOT! And I don't have all of my life to wait to get it sorted out. Cingular, here I come!
I need service and the goods (the V176) that was supposed to be part of my purchase. I have noted several dates that I have called, and written names of their "service" technicians. If this phone provider were providing oxygen, I would have died for lack of it. They don't realize the power they have to be of service and create good will.
After all, when someone's kid is in trouble and needs to speak to their parent, when I have a client in need that needs my immediate attention (I care for elderly in their homes), or when I need to make a call so that I don't abuse a clients' phones with my dealings, I NEED A PHONE that is CONNECTED and ready to do business. So, at this time, they have my account tied up with their LOSS PREVENTION department, as if I am the crook. Tracfone is the worst crook of all. When I ignore an elderly client and don't come through, it is NEGLECT, ABANDONMENT. That is what this company has done to me for the past 2 months.
For shame! I can "smell ya" in Miami, all the way here to South Lake Tahoe, CA. Get with the American way and provide the goods and services that you advertise. Lawyers would have some categories for your sins. Like 'false advertising and attempted robbery." Glad I can dispute the charges by way of my credit card company. If a train was coming at you on the tracks, you'd put it on hold for "three minutes" then another "three minutes" and THEN you would tell it your office was closing and to call the next business day, or even keep it on "HOLD" and not even think to mention that everyone on your side of the continent just went home for the day. That, ALSO, have I experienced with your inept, thoughtless company!
