American Auto Moving was contracted to move my vehicle with their trucks. According to their insurance filing with FMCSA (safersys.org) the only active staus they have is as a common carrier, not as broker. However, without my knowledge or permission, American Auto Movers did broker my vehicle transport.
Additionally, American Auto Moving continually lied about the location and status of my vehicle move. First they claimed there was a weather delay, then customer problems in Colorado, then the truck had transmission problems and on and on. The reality was that my vehicle had never left it's origin state until 9 days after it had been picked up.
While American Auto Movers never promised a delivery date, no one likes being continually lied to, especially when they are waiting on something important like a car. American Auto Movers will tell you anything up front to make a sale, then are extremely hard to get in touch with during the move and will obviously disregard federal regulations.
To their credit the vehicle was picked up on a specific day and time, which is a very hard thing to do in the auto shipping business. The vehicle arrived dirty, but generally unharmed. The total delivery time was 13 days.
As far as I'm concerned, Mike or Eli at American Auto Movers will lie to your face to get your money.
