Cancelled Call Conferencing Without Notifying Us

We had a conference call set up with our Board of Directors which consists of members in 5 different time zones. Shortly after the call was to take place we started receiving calls from all of the members telling us they could not get connected.

We called Verizon to see what was going on and proceeded to be tossed back and forth between one incompetent employee to another finally being put in contact with a Supervisor (at our request). He was less help than all of the other employees... He stated "That's not our department." When I asked him what department I needed to speak to, he said he didn't know!!!

I had to go online and google verizon conference calls to get the correct 800 number to call. Lo and behold when I called this number I was told that they basically revamped that service and we would have to re-register in the program.

We were also told we would have to pay 50 cents a minute per minute, per caller. We could pay up front while they ran a credit check to see if we were eligible for 8 cents a minute! Also, it would take 4-6 weeks for everything to be established.

We found another company online offering 7.9 cents a minute and had an account in 20 minutes.

How is it that one of the largest telephone providers could not provide the same cost efficient, speedy service??
