American Moving of Texas was hired to move us from LA to TX July 17. Unbeknownst to us, they hired a 3rd party mover that showed up at midnight. It took them 8 hours to load our things, and they showed up in a Penske rental van. We followed them because we were suspicious.
Once in Texas, they threatened to hold our things until we paid them extra charges. That was resolved once we told them we'd call the police. They delivered our things, but tried to leave without reassembly. Damages were incurred to our furniture. Pictures were taken of the damages by my husband and the 3rd party movers (Homeland Transportation). Pictures were sent to American Moving of Texas and I confirmed receipt of the pictures when I talked to customer service on the phone. Sherry stated the damages totalled approximately $300, and that she was waiting to talk to Homeland about it.
That was the last I heard about reimbursement; I can not get customer service or the owner of the company to return my calls, and it's been over a month. We paid $3000 for this move, which included insurance, so I am furious that no one wants to talk to me now.
