Back in February of I purchased a Pre-order for the "Bob Mackie/Cher/Farewell Tour/Limited Edition doll. I had been hearing that this doll was going to be limited to only 999 World Wide and wanted to secure it for my collection. I was excited when I was able to do so with this merchant and sent my credit card number to her to bill for a holding deposit and for which the balance would be billed open delievery.
I had heard that the dolls were to be released in July or August so on July 1 after hearing nothing from this merchant and no new news on the website, I contacted Island of Dolls to see if they knew when my Limited Edition Cher Doll would be sent.
Someone named "Bettina" wrote be back about how her distributor of the doll saw how the doll was in such high demand (selling for over $500.00 on Ebay without even being released yet) so he said he was going to charge her $500.00 per doll instead of the agreed upon price (which I am sure was well below the $299.00 she was charging me!)
She told me before she refunded any money she wanted to check some other sources, which later she informs me that TOYSRUS is the only one who would sell them and they had had their pre-sale back in April. Having thought I had already secured my order with Island of Dolls, I didn't try to purchase one from TOYSRUS. Had this merchant informed me she would not be able to supply me with what I ordered, I could have gotton it from TOYRRUS for $34.99!!
Now all the dolls are SOLD OUT and all Island of Dolls can say is that they will refund my money. Well to date, they haven't! When contacted regarding this matter, their response is that they been experianceing Computer and Phone line problems. (Yeah, I bet, from all those people who ordered this Cher doll from them!)
So now what I had hoped would become a valued part of my collection, and a part of my legacy I will most likely never own!

Don't buy from Island of Dolls... This merchant's "Island" is all fantasy!
