Dish network satellite television advertised a low entry rate for new service, and free 3 months of HBO. We were told $50.00 to have service with dvrs, and 3 rooms. It ended up being almost $300.00.
BE WARNED!!!
We were ultimately charged for 3 months of service in advance on our first bill. This was cleverly hidden in the fine
Print on their website, that this would be their policy.
However, we decided to cancel the free HBO movie channel before
The 90 day free trial was over. With a week left in the 3 month period, they stopped the HBO service on our account
The day we called to cancel it.
The 3 month free hbo was an incentive to order dish network, rather than a competing satellite. We did not receive the
Hbo service for the full time they said we would. Their customer agreement clearly states they would have to notify us
In writing if they were to change the terms of the programming in the service agreement. This is dishonest fraud, and
Bait and switch, in my opinion. I called them to inquire,
and the person said that the free service is terminated as soon as a customer calls and says they do not wish to be
Billed for it the next month. This policy does not appear to be stated anywhere.
The customer service girl acted like she was doing me a favor, in removing the 15 bucks that was on next month's bill for HBO.
Pardon me, but we are doing these communication companies a favor by doing business with them. We need to REVOLT against these clowns of all types. Many cell phone and cable companies, etc., play these same games.
Dont get mad, get even. They want to play the hidden cost game. Millions of angry consumers will be a cost they will eventually have to deal with.
I filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commision, also.
Just because I can.
