While trying to pick up my prescription, there was a problem and the full price was coming up as what I owed. I have a $25.00 copay and my deductible was met long ago. I told the clerk and he in turn went to the pharmacist to tell her. She said I had to pay the amount because that is what my insurance gave. I told her I had the same mistake a few days prior to this, and all she had to do was call Blue Cross and they would over ride it. She refused to call Blue Cross or even help me at all. I have been going to this pharmacy for over 20 years.
To add insult to injury, the Manager Robert told me that she did NOT have to call if she didn't want to. I am asthmatic and walked out without my medication. I went home and called Blue Cross myself and they told me of a problem they were having. The woman fixed it so I would not have to deal with that again.
Shortly after that, a man from Wellpoint called to tell me it wasn't Rite Aids fault. I stated to him that while the glitch was not their fault, the refusal to help me was and that is why I was so angry.
