Well, count me among the folks who had a fraudulent charge from ILD Teleservices on my latest AT&T bill. After reading online about ILD's business ethics (*cough*cough*), I didn't even bother calling them. I called AT&T. After a 30-minute round with the first service rep (who basically said she couldn't do anything about the charge, blah blah blah), I said:
"Let me be sure I understand correctly because when I hang up, I am going to file a complaint with the FTC and the Oklahoma Attorney General. You're saying there is NOTHING you can do about this. Is that correct?"
She put me on hold and then transferred me to a very nice rep who said she would credit my account for the charge. It was only $7.41 (for directory service to Nevada?), but it was clearly another ILD ripoff. The second rep explained that a block would do no good in this instance - that a block only protects against my long distance service being changed OR prevents long distance calls from being made from my home.
