Overall, we experienced an unsatisfactory move with this company. From their service to their slippery contract and billing issues, this company at each turn gave us the shaft. They have the practices in place so that their methods seem valid, yet the customer receives terrible service and gets overcharged in the meantime.
I will list the specific grievances below:
Salesman underestimated bid on moving price in order to get business. After I very thoroughly went through all our household belongings twice with him, I feel he purposely lowballed the bid and misled us concerning the moving and packing costs in order to get our down payment.
Once the salesman received our down payment after calling us repeatedly, then he no longer returned phone calls or helped us with service issues.
Movers were late getting there, and did not know how to pack. They threw things in boxes without wrapping. They were completely unprofessional as they packed, breaking items and missing entire drawers completely.
We were overcharged over $2000 for packing materials, which I had requested as part of the estimate. Once they had our goods in transit, we had no choice but to pay the inflated costs on delivery.
We requested a reweigh, but did not receive one.
As we unpacked our boxes gradually after delivery we sadly realized the poor quality of the packing and wrapping of furniture. Every piece of furniture we owned was damaged or completely busted in some way, along with damaged items in boxes. Several boxes were missing completely. Customer service was rude and unhelpful concerning our dilemma.
After filing claims forms, we were informed we were only entitled to a reimbursement of $30.00, because we signed for delivery of our shipment on the date it was delivered. We unfortunately did not realize that we had to unpack the entire household shipment, plus inspect the contents of every box & unwrap every piece of furniture, and test to see that every appliance worked, before we signed off on the shipment.
