All animal lovers-BEWARE
I was looking for a new kitten to add to the "family", so I stopped at Cat Depot. I picked out the one I wanted but noticed she had a runny nose. I pointed it out to them and they rubbed her face HARD with a paper towel. The answer I got to, "Is she sick?", was "She just has Cat Litter Up Her nose."
I thought that was odd but shrugged it off because I wanted to adopt so badly. I made the promise to myself to take her to the vet ASAP.
When I came home I set the kitten down in her carrier in the front room to let the other 3 smell her. Then I took her into the bedroom for "new arrival isolation" and called the vetrinarian.
I noticed the kitten was sneezing a lot, and was worried, but felt sure that the vet would say she was fine. Her meow was hoarse and she had diarreah. I took her to the vet and they said she had Upper Respiratory. Apparently since they house their new arrivals, kittens, and cats so closely together, the Upper Respiratory disease passes very easily. Unfortunately, one of the ways it is passed is through sneezing, and when I set her down to let the others sniff her she passed it on to my 7 mo. Old kitten and he died, since he was the runt of a litter that I raised up myself.
The other 2 permanently are afflicted with it now.
I drove back and took the kitten back, and told Cat Depot that they had sold me a kitten with Upper Respiratory. When I glanced around, I noticed other cats/kittens with runny noses, eyes, sneezing. They told me she was not sick. I said, Are you BLIND? Yes, she's sick, and worse than that, she has Upper Respiratory.
They wouldn't give me my 60 dollars back, so I lost about $300.00 to this unknowlegable lying company. I said, "Keep your sick cat, but you can obviously see that these animals are sick".
If they work with animals, they should know about animals.
That's the bottom line.
I suggest you look for your new furry friends elsewhere, instead of this diseased haven.
