NEVER, not ONCE, in my life have I ever had so much trouble out of a company! I have driven a truck, over-the-road, for over 13 years. I was an owner-operator for 8 of those years. When coming out of owner-operating, I had to go to school, you know the whole "get that driving certificate" thing. Anyway, I have had the DISPLEASURE of running for Covenant Transport for about 16 months, now. I am BROKE! They have repeatedly, cheated me out of bonuses. I have been a team driver, and a solo, with this company. Even as a team, we have rarely run over 3000 miles a week! FOR A TEAM!
That is not right! Currently, I am on personal leave from Covenant Transport. I was told by three different people, while planning my personal leave, that as long as I drove "past December 31" that I would be eligible for my safety bonus. I was on that truck until January 2nd. Do you think I have been able to get my bonus pay? HELL NO! And I need that money!
I am a single mother, with a five year old son. I went on personal leave to get financing to buy a house. I got the financing, but have to have a down payment. My safety bonus has accumulated to over $1200!! DO you think anyone will help me get this bonus? NO!
During my mandatopy training period, Covenant Transport teamed me with a trainer, AND with my soon-to-be ex-husband. That's right! 41 days in the same truck with a man who had been put in jail after beating me up! I had an order of protection against him, and NO ONE, I MEAN NO ONE, WAS LISTENING TO ME! He ended up punching me in the face, on the truck, in ST. Joseph, MO! You know that they didn't do ANYTHING to him? Wasn't one of their 10 unmentionable sins to FIGHT on company property? But, us drivers, we're at the bottom of their food chain. And, not worthy of their respect, or protection.
NEVER AGAIN, will a company persuade me that I can make a better life for myself, or my son, by being away from him! Never!!!
