This outlines the fraudulent activities on our personal bank account by companies called RTS Group, Inc and Dialing USA. I have no recall of ever talking to either company last January, so, I have no idea how they got my bank account information.
During the year 2006 we were very busy dealing with the illness and death of my father. So, it wasn't until December 16 when we reviewed our Dec. 8th Bank statement and discovered we were being scammed monthly from our bank account by fraudulent withdrawals in the form of un-authorized checks. We immediately notified our bank and were given a US Bank case number.
We initially thought we were charged $39.95 October 5, Nov. 13, and Dec. 8. And asked our banker to investigate and refund these charges Totaling $119.95.
Returning home we reviewed our old bank statements and were shocked to discover the ongoing scam since Jan. 2006. On Jan 18th we were charged $3.95 for an unknown Benefit Package from RTS group. If we ever received anything from them we likely disposed of it with the rest of the junk mail. Then on Feb 1, there was a $79.94 charge for Unlimited State to State Long Distance Plan payable to Dialing USA. Then starting on March 23 we were charged $39.95 for the next ten months. Dialing USA is not our long distance provider it never has been. From RST groups, Inc, and Dialing USA, the total fraud amount during this year totaled $483.39.
Next I did a Google of Dialing USA. I discovered that RST and Dialing USA are the same outfit. What a shock to read letter after letter from individuals scammed by this company. It's interesting that this business uses many different 800 numbers and addresses for their scam, perhaps it's to keep ahead of the law. I tried several times to phone their 800 number listed on the checks they used to withdraw from my account. When I dialed 800-501-1805 I'm told to leave my number and they will return my call. They don't return calls!
Next, I contacted the Montana Office of Consumer Protection to report this fraud and copied that letter to the Utah Division of Consumer Protection. Somehow this scam needs to be stopped!
