I worked for Cavenders Boot City for a few months. The job was fun and all, but the management was horrible. He treated his employees so unfairly it was unreal. Yelling at us for everything. Talking to us like we were stupid. Blaming things that were his fault or his responsibilty on his employees. Making the schedule where we worked 8,9 or 10 days in a row. Working 6 or 6 1/2 hours on Sundays with not even a 15 minute break, telling us we can't take a break to get a snack, but he could. He falls asleep in his office and in the break room.
This man can not physically do his job so he comes down harder on every one else in the store to get stuff done.
He refers to some employees as whiners to other employees. He puts down several employees to other people. Basically telling everyone that the other people are stupid and dumb and ugly. What kind of manager would do that? Like for instance their is a young man that works there and he works as a stocker and he calls him gomer, cause he thinks this guy is stupid. And he has told prety much all the employees that.
He threatens peoples jobs, screwed us out of money, even though he claims that he is all about his employees making their money. Life in that store was unfair when it came to that man. And then he makes up great stories about ex employees. Several people in that store are afraid to speak up in fear they will lose their job. Since it did happen and they saw it.
You know another funny thing, there are a few first aid kits in that store, with little to no supplies left, but I went to get something one day out of one and the saline in there expired in 2000!!! Are you serious? And me and another employee told him he needed new ones. And there is still no change.
That store is corrupt because of the management. He can not keep employees, such a high turn over rate, but he actually blames that on other employees, but my guess is that he has been there the longest and always had a high turn over rate. Come on now look at the big picture of that. And when you talk to the district manager and try going higher, their answer is he would not do things like that I have known him to long. Yeah well really you work above him of course he is going to kiss your butt while hes busting ours.
People get fired from their for assumptions and of being accused, he never tries to check out the problem just jumps on it and goes. But you know Christmas is right around the corner, and there is not enough people left in that store to provide enough help. They are going to get slammed and I honestly believe I want to sit back and laugh because he did it to himself.
If you can not handle your job physically or mentally, maybe you should make a change.instead of taking it out on your hard working employees who are busting their butts to make a paycheck, while you sit around and sleep and eat and watch movies in your office.
And have no clue whats even going on in your store.
And, you really need to quit lecturing your employees on the floor around customers, they don't like that to much.
