I used to enjoy eating at Subway but after briefly working there during February I'm disgusted. The place is poorly run and they treat employees and customers like crap.
I worked there for 2 weeks for a total of 5 days but it was more then enough to see what a hellhole it is.
People would often work 8 hours with no break. The managers often left the store unattended for hours while they 'ran errands'. Most of the employees had greasy hair and rarely washed their hands.
When customers tipped the money went into a jar where it was supposed to be split among everyone but often the managers would keep it or give it to the favorite employees.
My real complaint came after they fired me saying they had hired too many people.
I expected to get a pay check for 5 days of work. It was around 15-18 hours worth. Well the manager who'd fired me called a week later saying to come by and pick up a pay check. So I went over to the store. Of course she wasn't there. The girl who was working that day called her and asked where she'd put my pay check. The manager told her the owner had it.interesting that she had lied to me on the phone previously. I was given the owners pager number and told to page him. Of course he never called me back so now a month later I still don't have a jor or the money.
