On 29 October, I stopped at the Shell on Center Street in Auburn.
I had to use the ladies room, opened the door, and out ran a small mouse. Obviously, I never went to the bathroom after seeing a mouse.
I instead went up to the cash register, very discreetly I told her about the little white mouse I found. She did not look shocked at all.
Instead, she says how very sorry she was, and apologized for being located directly on the river, and how you should expect rats from time to time, but they do their best. I don't think it was a rat anyways, Rats are not little and white. She told me she'd call maintenance on monday morning and he'll put up glue boards.
Before I used the ladies room, I made me a cup of coffee, creamed and sugared it, when I came across where to put trash. I'm not a bit surprised to see mice in that store. I refused to touch the door of the trash can, it is filthy and sticky, so I opened the cupboard the can was in, and threw the sugar packets there. It's no wonder they have rats, there is about a year's worth of stickiness in that cupboard, and there are ants stuck to it.
The biggest shocker was not the filth or even the mouse, It was how the lady at the cash register was so nonchalant about the whole thing, as though it's perfectly normal to have vermin. She gave me the attitude as though she was asking me why am I asking her? This cashier has NO customer service skills. I had to wait for her to scratch her lottery ticket before she even LOOKED at me. I say never shop at c n brown big apple
