Wow, where to begin, Dish Network is one of the most unethical companies i've had the mispleasure of doing business with. They sell you, that they offer comparable services to cable at more affordable rates. The product they offer is inferior, you lose signal during storm conditions. Depending on the length and severity of storm, depends on how long use lose signal for. Well I'm more apt to watch television during stormy conditions than bright beautiful days so the inferiority of their product was exemplified. Second, pricing I was quoted was not truly what I was charged.By the time they added all their additional fees, the bill was comparable, no significant savings.
Now the icing on the cake, for which I will concede I'm not faultless. I am self employed, commissioned based pay. Since cash flow required me to be conservative, I allowed the account to go 60 days, which is truly thirty days because they advance bill you. Dish decided to shut off service (mid october) with the account at 45 days delinquent. Well, I didn't run and pay bill, truly waiting for November Commission check to arrive. I owed them 210.00 which was previous month and existing month. Last week I notice an unauthorized charge on my account for 189.00. I called and was told it was a disconnect charge. I usually honor contracts (even dubious ones), so i told them bill would be paid in full week of November, and didn't care whether they reactivated cable or not until then. I am told that they have discontinued service and I must pay an additional 150.00 in order to reinstate.
I investigate further and find out for true usage, I owe them less than 160.00. A few dollars short of their fraudulant charge to my debit card. Since I'm a little concerned about their demands concerning total amount they require from me and because of inferior product, I suggested they pick up the equipment. They told me they do'nt pick up the equipment but they will send boxes for return.
This conversation was last Sunday, and today I find out they have done another fraudulent charge against my account for 400.00 for equipment. I call them again, and inquire as to why.
I am told that the equipment has been charged. I remind them they are suppose to send me return boxes, they investigate and conclude I Should have them next Monday or Teusday.
Well the conclusion of my story is this, This monday when (if) the boxes arrive, I will ship back their equipment. RIGHT after I walk into my bank and file unauthorized affidavits for both chatges. This company is undesirable and unethical. Its not consumer friendly but their actions lead me to believe profits are geared for and generated from cancelation of contracts and equipment charges.
