I don't understand the concept of taking legal action in the form of a court date when a debtors court doesn't even exist anymore. Can they throw you in the hooskow? If not, what do they do? A judge tells you that you do owe them money plus court costs and attorney's fees and then what? You say okay, I'll make payments which don't happen because I can't afford it and we're back to square one? My credit can't possibly be hurt more than it already is, and I have no qualms about paying a legitimate bill, when I can afford to, so I wonder what can possibly be done to an individual in my situation.
