My checking account went into overdraft and I didn't know why until I found out that U-HAUL had charged me $80 instead of what they told me I was charged and what was written on my receipt. The amount on my receipt was $58.50. I called them and they said "that's because we charge your card 80 dollars and after several days the charge is changed, so your bank account will credit you back the difference". I asked why I wasn't told this, and they said "thats how we do it". My boyfriend called them on my behalf and the manager agreed that it should have been done that way. Okay... So in the meantime I had to borrow money to put gas in my car to get to work because I wasn't expecting that charge. Apparently U-HAUL doesn't care how they treat their customers and have a lack of regard for informing people of what they're charging them. I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN!!! I have always used u-haul, and have always recommended them but that will be the last time! I am willing to spend more money on another company who will be honest with me regarding charges. My recommendation to everyone is to never use these people. Fyi, this was the u-haul at 2680 newport blvd, costa mesa, ca 92627 on september 30 and the person who charged me and did not inform me of the 80 dollar charge was moulee (kristie) payne.
