I met a representative of Metro Marketing, Inc, namely Michele Ziemer, at a mortgage broker convention in Philadelphia. Ms. Ziemer introduced her products to me and I left my contact information with her to get more information about her company. After many calls and follow ups by Ms. Ziemer, I was "sold" on the program when I was informed by Ms. Ziemer they were introducing a lead program targeting borrowers who currently have adjustible rate mortgages (also called "ARMS") who would be excellent candidates for fixed rate mortgages (this is probably the largest current niche in the mortgage industry). Based on the WRITTEN declaration (will provide immediately upon request), I decided to buy a batch of leads from Metro. THey did not accept credit cards and would only accept checks (I now see why: you cant charge off a check if you've been ripped off!) However, instead of getting customers with ARMS, I was getting exclusively customers who had under 6% FIXED rates (the current interest rate on a 30 year fixed exceeds this, therefore leaving no reason for this type of consumer to refinance).in addition, information provided on these leads were inaccurate. When I complained to Ms. Ziemer, she sent me to "Patti" in customer service, who told me that although they targeting customers with ARMS, not every customer would have one, which is bogus because (1) NONE of the leads were ARMS; (2) You con contact ANY targeted list company that will provide EXCLUSIVELY ARMS if you request them. I then asked to speak to a manager, when I got "Christine" Christine promised to resolve my issues within 72 hours, and provide the necessary credits to my account. Needless to say, this did not happen. Bottom line is I'm out $2200 and I did not receive what I paid for. I have written documentation of my issues, as I mentioned, available immediately upon request. Thank you.
BOTTOM LINE TO MORTGAGE BROKERS/LENDERS: IF A COMPANY DOES NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS, DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY! That credit card is your best protection from frauds like this!
