During the summer of 2005 United Debt Solutions contacted me concerning the elimination of my credit card debt. My debt was not overwhelming but I was planning to buy a house and so I thought eliminating that debt in the manner they prescribed might be helpful.
I was required to pay, through an automatic withdraw from my checking account, the sum of $350 a month. After the fees were reached, the rest would be put into an account that would be used to pay off the negotiated debt. During this time, I assumed that they were indeed negotiating with my creditors. Now I wonder.
I really should have known that something was up when they sent me a written communique on a little slip of white paper; no letterhead or anything even resembling a professional company. Well, they are pros. They are rip-off pros.
After doing everything required of me by them, in July I was contacted by my main creditor who now wants its money; all of it. That includes approximately $2,000 in interest that has accumulated over the past year.
I want my money back and I want these people in jail. From what I've seen, I'm not the only victim. I thank God that I have a wife who is understanding and knows I was trying to help us. But that doesn't pay the bills.
