Another ripoff from a dishonest breeder. I had a very sick puppy that died because of a pea sized pancreas. Starved to death! Ripoff!

Hi, I am new to filing or viewing usacomplaints.com, but I figured this might be happening. I wish I would have reported Cindy after this took place a few years ago. I was so mad and sad at the time, it was very hard for me to write anything about this.

I did not take this to court for fear of losing more money. I am a part-time school teacher and also did landscaping at the time that I bought a pup from Cindy. I saved up quite a bit of money because I wanted a puppy that I could raise along with my 7 month old and my 5 year old children.

At the time a male German-German Shepherd pup was $1800. This dog was named Aksel and I did receive a certified pedigree from the AKC. However, the Sire was Jupiter Vom Monchberg and the Dam Unke Vom Furstenberg. Aksel's date of birth was 11-08-01 purchase date of 01-10-02. I did everything I could do to keep this dog heathy. I had a BIG vet bill.

Aksel was a great dog when we first got him. My kids loved him and were great with him. Cindy even commented on how my kids were great. He was extremely smart, I had him house trained, the kids were helping him with feeding, we took him to the bus stop everyday to get acculmated to the other kids. Aksel got along great w/our rescued lab too.

Aksel received all his early vaccinations from Cindy and started him on the food she recommended. I took him to my vet to verify that he was healthy. All good so far, until...

He started having very loose stool (around 7 months of age). We took him to the vet, vet told us to switch food because the Royal Canine is rich. At some point we were told to give boiled 90% lean hamburger and rinse and long grain white rice to him. Vet told us to add green beans to Aksel's diet.

After many times going to the vet to check weight, Aksel was underweight and changing diet did not work. He was prescribed Endosorb to help the pancreas absorb the food (I believe) and had him on Canine I? D food. He also had many, many tests done. This went on for a couple of months. Nothing improved.

Then I got the call from my husband when I was at work. Aksel died. My kids were devastated!!! My vet did an autopsy and concluded that he died because of a pea sized pancreas. He literally starved to death because his food went right through him. Poor guy, it was very sad to know what he went through.

My kids to this day miss him much and he was in our lives for a short time. He died September 4 only 10 months old. The vet was surprised that he lasted that long. The vet kept the pancreas but we did not take this to court.

We contacted Cindy and she refused to believe that her pups could have anything wrong with them due to genetics. She said this has never happened and it seemed as though she insinuated that I was somehow at fault. She also said that my vet was not very reputable.

However, after numerous of calls back and fourth between my vet and her, (I even had my vet call her), she did say I could buy another female dog from the same litter at half price. YIKES, I do not make that kind of money and that could be another risk if I bought another dog from the same litter with the same genetics!!!

I would be out of more money and I could not put my kids, my husband and myself through that. My vet said if she was reputable, she would replace the pup that died. She was not very sympathetic with us.

Now that I have visited some of the other many complaints, My husband noticed another person who had a dog die from the litter of Jupiter Vom Monchberg of the same thing, but later on. I haven't read it yet but will. I would like to contact that person to see what the outcome was.

This is sad that she knew that something was wrong but refused to beieve it and now others are effected by the same thing I went through. I hope this kind of breeding will end.

I did look into buying a German, German Sheperd to avoid breeding problems, I must have been one of the first people that had a problem with her, who knows, I know that she also bred Rottweilers before German Shepherds. Now that I look back, I wish I would have done more. I was only the begining???

I now hope that this will help any of those who are looking into buying a pup from her to change their mind. Thanks for reading my sad news. - k
