Do not order from House of Brides. I placed an order at the end of May for a bridesmaid dress. The wedding is in August. I paid for the "rush order" so that I knew for sure the dress would arrive on time.
I returned home from a 3 week vacation to find an email from House of Brides that my order could not be completed because the date of the wedding was too close. (This coming after having placed the order a month earlier).
Of course I'm panicked and reviewed my emails, including the confirmation that I would pay the rush fee in order to have the dress on time.
Well, good luck getting hold of anyone there. I get the run around every time I call (there is no direct number and am always in voice mail h*l). I'm lucky to get a response to my emails.
Finally, after several emails, they tell me that they can get a different style dress from the manufacturer in time (Dessy), but not the one I originally ordered. So I email them back (and try to call) and tell them YES, I'll take it. Well, I don't know if they were lying or what, I still haven't received word back that I will have that dress and the wedding is a month away.
I'll keep you posted, but my suggestion is not to use HOB. Especially after reading all the other posts - wish I would have done that earlier.
