DO NOT trust Aarons sales and lease. They ripped us off and they are dishonest. I rented from Aarons over a year ago, we didnt know at the time that we were supposed to leave the store with a copy of the contract, so when our merchandise arrived several days later, we called the store and talked with Ty about not getting a copy of our contract, he said he would look into it and needless to say, we never heard from him.
We put in several calls letting them know the furniture we got was NOT new, and it was supposed to be. We still had not received a copy of our contract. Well whats happening now is, over a year later, we STILL do not have a copy and they tell us we wont get it until we make a payment.
Its illegal for them to enforce payments UNTIL we get a copy. We have put our payments on hold until we get a copy. We just found out after requesting a investigation into our account, that our furniture was used and they charged us a new price for it. So they say that its paid off. Today I talked with them on the phone and the girl was very rude and said that I made her look like a fool because I promised to pay and didnt. I reminded her I promised to pay WHEN I got the copy of the contract.
So now she is being very rude and says she will not send me my contract until after I make a payment. I know this is ILLEGAL, because we were supposed to have the contract the DAY it was signed. So now they are REFUSING us our copy, and they are threatening to take our t.V. Which by California law they cannot enforce payment or take our merchandise without our contract. So we are asking for help because this has got to be illegal.
Also they are saying that unless we make a payment on the t.V. They wont allow our furniture to be paid off. Even though they overcharged us for used furniture. This all sounds so horrible that a rental/lease store would break the law like this.
We need some help to find out what we are supposed to do. We have already been screwed over by this store for over a year, we dont want this to continue. This store is dishonest, and it seems they dont care if they break the law. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.
