Last year I ordered several Wacoal bras from HerRoom trying to figure out what size I needed. I returned the bras that did not fit in 2 separate boxes, a couple of days apart. I used THEIR "just put it back in the mailbox" prepaid shipping label for the return.
Six weeks went by and no refund. I finally called them and they said that they had never received EITHER box, they were not responsible, and I was S.O.L. Because I didn't buy insurance. Period. This was almost $250 worth merchandise. What are the chances of the US postal service loosing both boxes? And since when do I have to buy insurance to keep from getting ripped off on a return?
I contacted my credit card company to try to get any part of my refund and they were unbelievably nasty to both my credit card company and the BBB. Their responses were full of personal attacks and they tried to paint me as some kind of scam artist. My credit card company was so shocked that they decided to eat the cost and refund my money themselves, and told me never to deal with them again.
I have NEVER been treated so badly by any net company before or since, and I shop online a lot.
