Mark Conese was representing me in my divorce. He rarely returned my calls, when he did he would say he had a call on another line and hang up, he took $2,000.00 up front and then did not apprise me that I was allegedly "over that amount" by the end of my divorce. Showed up completely unprepared for depositions, postponed my divorce hearing without telling me, grossly overcharged me, withheld funds he owed me, screamed at me in an abusive manner in his office in front of his secretary and a client calling me a liar, was on parole for unethical conduct, in fact he should not have been allowed to have or use his law license but was permitted as long as he was under the supervision of another attorney which he never informed me about. He also refuses to give me an itemized billing for his time, apparently he needs extra time to pad it.
He had to appear in front of the Supreme Court of Ohio to answer charges of professional misconduct and was sanctioned by the court (found guilty of coercion). Was gound guilty of misfeance and malfeance by threatening an elections board employee that "he would lose his job if he did not contribute more money to the county Democratic Party."
I highly recommend that anyone considering using his "services" thoroughly check his background before giving him a dime. When I first met with him I hadn't decided for sure even to use him but he snatched my check from my hand and dismissed me. I, in retrospect, wish I had stood up for myself more and very much regret that I did not do my homework before meeting with him.
